By way of comparison

The petition asking that the Senate and House Armed Services Committees compel the Army to investigate anew the death of Pfc. LaVena Johnson stands at just over 3500 names at the moment. It has taken some three months to reach this point.

The petition to change the logo for the London 2012 Olympics passed 10,000 signatures in less than a day.

Sickening isn't it?

But that's the American way.

Genocide in Darfur? Americans don't care... and the media certainly doesn't care. They would rather tell us about Paris Hilton... a rich girl who actually has to pay her debt to society. I am baffled as to why the media thinks this is an important story that we must know about. It basically all comes down to ratings.

Entertainment = easy ratings.
Why do real news when you can get very easy ratings with cheap Entertainment news?

Real News... the Ted Koppel, Ed Bradley, Walter Cronkite stuff of the past, is just too much work. Most of the Reporters and journalists today are lazy bums.

There are only a few left who do good investigative reports.

Thanks much, SP! I'll watch for the full version and will link to it here and at Waveflux when it's up.

Philip,

The entire article is now up. You can connect to the link that I provided. Waterflake had some challenges trying to download LaVena's photo next to the article. She notified me that it is now up. Sorry, I am telling you this late. There is a big time zone difference between Waterflake and myself.
